Our work

In this project (funded by Avfall Norge) we investigated the potential of recycling maritime ropes into filament for 3D printers. We looked into how the more durable PE and PP materials in these ropes can offer a sustainable filament alternative to the non-recyclable PLA commonly used in 3D printing.

We designed and produced menu covers for Himkok, the coolest bar in Oslo. The covers are made of old bike tires and 100% local plastic waste collected in Oslo, and as you can see in the pictures, every cover is unique!

We participated in the Waste for Warmth project, which is a collaboration between Ingeniører Uten Grenser, IFRC, Field Ready and The Polyfloss Factory. It's an initiative aimed at providing refugee camp tents insulated with recycled plastic, to get people through the cold winters. The insulation is made of 'Polyfloss', which is a type of fiber plastic made by carefully heating and spinning plastic waste in a rotating oven, a process similar to and inspired by cotton-candy production!

We collaborated with Yamana Boats to develop a skin for an SOF kayak made of recycled plastic. The skin is meant to make the kayaks float and resistant to traction, and is made by melting together layers of plastic bags.
